Engaging Public Servants
A Nonpartisan Gospel-Centered Mission to Public Servants
At ENGAGE, we help churches relate to public servants through a simple, biblical pattern—not politics.
SCRIPTURE
We begin with God’s Word as our authority and message.
PRAYER
We depend on the Holy Spirit, interceding for those in authority.
PRESENCE
We build consistent, Christ-shaped relationships with public servants.
Faithful Engagement
Seven Characteristics of Faithful Engagement
Our approach is shaped by a biblical model drawn from the Apostle Paul’s interactions with governing authorities and his guidance to the churches:
The Pauline Framework:
These characteristics shape how churches engage:
1. GOSPEL-CENTERED
We engage to proclaim Christ and advance the gospel.
2. NON-PARTISAN
We maintain allegiance to Christ—not political parties.
3. PRAYER
We rely on God, not strategy or influence.
4. INTENTIONAL
We engage purposefully, not reactively.
5. GROUNDED IN AUTHORITY
We recognize governing authority as instituted by God—but not ultimate.
6. LAWFUL &
NON-COERCIVE
We use legal rights appropriately, never for pressure or manipulation.
7. RESPECTFUL
We speak and act with Christlike humility—even in disagreement.
Guardrails
Four Guardrails for Faithful Engagement
These guardrails protect churches from drifting away from gospel faithfulness:
What We Will NOT Do:
NO COERCION
We do not use force, pressure, or manipulation.
NO DEHUMANIZING SPEECH
We speak with dignity and restraint toward all public servants.
NO PARTISAN ALIGNMENT
We do not attach the church to political parties or movements.
NO OUTCOME-BASED SUCCESS
We measure faithfulness by obedience to Christ—not results.
Why This Matters
Churches often feel pulled toward two extremes:
-
Political entanglement
-
Complete disengagement
ENGAGE helps churches walk a better path: A nonpartisan, gospel-centered mission to public servants.
-
Faithful to Christ.
-
Present in public life.
