ENGAGE believes that the Church is to be a Biblical Voice to all human beings and the culture at large. The gospel is obviously the first thing that are voice is proclaiming. But along within this is the call to be a salt-and-light witness to our culture which is saturated with influences soiled by the human-fall, malevolent spiritual enemies, and an overall idolization of humanity. The Church is to demonstrate and proclaim a kingdom ethic rooted in objective biblical truth that has actually been reveled by God through the scriptures leading to maximum human flourishing. The Church is not the enemy of humanity but its best friend as it proclaims the gospel along with principled scriptural truth. The Ten Commandments basically articulate much of what makes cultures and nations healthy. We need public policy that stands against murder, stealing, lying, etc. These things do not restrict the human experience but on the contrary maximize its overall psychological and sociological health. The Church is to fill the culture with a Biblical voice so that a faulty human society maintains a sustaining moral ethic. 

ENGAGE intends to empower the Church with biblical tools and resources as it engages the culture with preaching, testifying, service, voting, and many other forms of proclamation. Multiple tools are offered here for sharpening a Biblical Voice:

The Bible:

It's so obvious but must be said that the scriptures and deep study of them forms the tenor of our voice to the culture. If our message is just opinion and sentiment then it will miss the bullseye for which it aims. We highly encourage strong Biblical teaching, study, and proclamation. 

Biblical Citizenship Classes: 

Citizenship-discipleship has for too long been either neglected or purposely ignored. We encourage churches to have periodic classes that wrestle with the call to be a witness to the gospel through our citizenship and actions towards our government. Our citizenship eternally is in heaven (Philippians 3:20), but our temporary citizenship is important also as we honor government, pray for government, and help choose our government. We recommend that churches find a good Biblical Citizenship classes or create one -and we can help with both. 

Voter Registration:

Sadly a high percentage of the Church does not vote. Some say this number is has high as 50-80%. This is a travesty and is one of the simplest ways to be a biblical voice in your nation. Churches are allowed to encourage and empower voter registration whether in their buildings or in their electronic communications. Voters Guides:

We are not only called to vote but to vote in an informed and biblically influenced way. ENGAGE believes that this transcends partisan politics. But unless voters are informed about where candidates stand on the issues they are voting based only on commercials, personal personality preferences, or other unstable reasons. Pastor Equips: 

We desire to equip, empower, and engage Pastors to be loving yet bold proclaimers of biblical truth from the pulpit. And to help them do that with not only obvious issues in the public forum but also nuanced ones. So we will be providing videoed kingdom conversations with leaders for other leaders to watch, we will hold luncheons to discuss how to biblically think and preach about social issues, as well as providing resources to read on this vital subject. Pastors have been essential leaders in our country since the revolutionary war and the need is no less needed to today in the midst of the culture wars within which we find ourselves. 

ENGAGE desires to help churches think through and to implement practical strategies in equipping their members as well as engaging them to be a biblical voice. Just as we spend time developing strategies that are biblical and fruitful in our ministry/mission areas we need to have an action plan for the mission of being a Biblical Voice in our generation and to our culture. 

As in our other 3 other engagement areas we think that being a Biblical Voice is so important that we need practical accountability to make sure we are doing more than just nodding our head at the call but not doing any practical ministry. ENGAGE Leaders in the local congregations and ENGAGE, the organization, can collaborate to form a healthy atmosphere of biblical accountability around his call to be a Biblical Voice.
